Infidelity Counseling

In this day and age of advanced technology I frequently am asked the question “Isn’t that an affair?” How do we define infidelity today? And, furthermore, we all have different definitions relative to our life experiences, values and cultural influence. In previous generations it used to be clearer what constituted an affair. Many people (including politicians) consider an affair involving intercourse. It is no longer so clear and we put more value today on the emotional relationship we have with a partner. Is it infidelity when you or your partner is up in the middle of the night chatting online with some one? What does “just friends” mean today?
There are also no straight forward answers to what you do about infidelity. It does not necessarily mean it is the end of your relationship but conversely it also doesn’t mean that you stay together no matter what. Counseling and phone counseling for infidelity can help you work through the pain.

Counseling will help you:
•    If you want to rebuild your relationship
•    If your relationship has ended as a result of infidelity
•    If you have had a history of infidelity in your life
•    If you are afraid your partner is having an affair
•    If you are tempted to have an affair
•    If you grew up in a family effected by infidelity
•    If you and your partner are struggling with trust issues, deception or lies.

Counseling and phone counseling will help you work through the hurt feelings of infidelity, determine whether or not to stay in the relationship. Regardless of whether you decide to rebuild your relationship or end it phone counseling can help you move forward.

We can talk and I can support you through this incredibly tumultuous time. Beginning therapy shows that you are committed to caring for yourself and are ready to start the path of healing.
